When we have wings

By: Claire Corbett
Genre: Fantasy
Loc: FIC COR

Jane Campion calls this book "Intoxicating". Mostly because the writer talks about flight, and it makes Jane Campion actually visualise herself flying, as if she could feel her wings. It is a story about the dream of flight becoming real, with surgery, drugs and gene manipulation- you too could fly. That is what Peri wants- a poor girl from the regions and she was prepared to do anything to get her wings and join the elite.  Is this self transformation- or self destruction.
I want to read this book, it feels like fantasy with a difference and possibility. Not the vampire sucky thing- but flight and people.
