We were told this is a MUST BUY from the Paper Plus- so we did!

“You have to learn to love yourself before you can love someone else. Because it's only when we love ourselves that we feel worthy of someone else's love.”

When Maisie is struck by lightning, her face is partially destroyed. She's lucky enough to get a face transplant, but how do you live your life when you can't even recognize yourself anymore? She was a runner, a girlfriend, a good student ...a normal girl. Now, after a single freak accident, all that has changed. As Maisie discovers how much her looks did and didn't shape her relationship to the world, she has to redefine her own identity, and figure out what 'lucky' really means.

"This is a brilliant story of identity, friendship, and acceptance. The writing was quick and easy, with short chapters keeping the story moving at a great pace." Kate

"What I loved most about this book was that it's main message was 'Love Yourself'. Maisie has a terrible accident and as a result, has to have a face transplant. She has to deal with having someone else's nose, chin, cheeks and her own massive scars. She literally isn't the same person on the outside. But I enjoyed Maisie figuring our her new face and new life, surrounded by people who supported her, or would learn to.  "- Maddie
