"The soul in darkness sins, but the real sinner is he who caused the darkenss" Victor Hugo

A little boy is found dead in a child's playground...
Daniel Hunter- a solicitor is introduced to Sebastian, an eleven year old boy, accussed of murdering the innocent boy.
This book is about Sebastian's troubled home life, it is about Daniels own childhood as a foster boy,  it is about justice, it is about hope and it has been talked about all year as a book that is deeply suspenseful and psychological! Not a light read, but one that will make me think through my foster brothers life and how did we as a family and us as a Nation journey with him? I think I will get him to read it as well- could be a harrowing discussion afterwards! But isnt that why read books- to take us to these places of self discovery and reflection and so we can figure stuff out? I wonder what Daniel Hunter finally figures out  for himself and in defending Sebastian?
